Fundamental Aeronautics Hypersonics Project: Overview

An overall summary of the NASA Fundamental Aeronautics Program’s Hypersonics (FAH) Project is presented. The purpose of the FAH Project is to develop methods, tools, and data with the objective to enable highly reliable and efficient hypersonic systems to emerge. The Project plan was developed to ensure a stable, long-term commitment to invest in foundational hypersonics research. The objective of the investment is to develop understanding of the underlying physics, and developing the talent to enable NASA’s Strategic Plan.
