This monograph presents the views of two urologists on the mechanisms responsible for vesicoureteral reflux and its relation to pyelonephritis and urinary tract infections. The authors are both experienced pediatric urologists and one of them (J. A. Hutch) is internationally recognized as one of the pioneers in this field in recognition of his major contributions in defining the importance of vesicoureteral reflux in the pathogenesis of pyelonephritis. The combined clinical experience of the authors is both unique and extensive.
