A newlinearization technigque isproposed that compensates 3rd-and-5-order intermodulation distortion (IM3andIM5)simultaneously byusing CuberPredistortion and2ndharmonics injection. Duetotheuseof predistortion, thepoweramplifier (PA)canbelinearized atlower output back-off values andsmaller drain currents than possible with thePAusing con-Xcntional 3rd order distortion compensation. Tovalidate theproposed technique, a2GHzband45W class PAandalinearizer areimplemented. Two-tone test results showthat both1M3and1M5 aresuppressed overawideoutput dvnamic range. W-CDMA one-carrier tests showthat theACLRofthePA is also improved, from-49.3 dBctoA-23dBc.
