Visible wavelength FEL oscillator

Abstract The Boeing Aerospace Company and Spectra Technology, Inc. are building an rf linac-driven 0.5 μm FEL oscillator. A tapered wiggler will be employed for a design goal of 5% extraction. The purpose of this experiment is to demonstrate that high extraction and short wavelength operation are simultaneously achievable.
