Swelling and thickness effects on the separation of styrene and ethylbenzene based on facilitated transport through ionomer membranes

Two approaches for improving the productivity of ionomer membranes were examined. One approach involved a technique for permanently swelling the membrane and thereby changing its microstructure. A second approach to improved productivity is the use of thinner membranes.
