Interiorização da COVID-19: análise epidemiológica nos municípios do estado do Amazonas

Objective: to analyze the evolution of COVID-19 in 54 municipalities in the state of Amazonas. Method: cross-sectional study, series of cases, analyzing the records of new cases on May 4 and 18, 2020. Incidence rates and a ranking of rate variations were calculated. Results: On May 4, the city of Manacapuru led the ranking and Manaus assumed the 12th position. On May 18, Santo Antonio do Ica led the ranking and Manaus moved to 24th position. The variation in the incidence rate of the interior was 73.5% higher than that of Manaus in the period. Conclusion: the internalization of COVID-19 is a warning, due to the absence of intensive treatment beds, access barriers and professional deficits.
