Multi-dimension analysis on the satisfaction of critically ill conscious patients

Objective To evaluate the satisfaction of conscious patients in ICU, and discuss how to promote the satisfaction efficiently. Methods All matched conscious patients in ICU from January to December 2015 were included and the self-designed questionnaire scales were used to investigate these conscious patients before their discharging from ICU.The results, reliability and validity were analyzed. Results The overall Cronbach's α Coefficient in the scales was 0.931, split-half reliability was 0.887, construct validity KMO(MSA) was 0.863, and the differences were statistically significant.The analysis of the results of the questionnaire scales showed that the dissatisfaction for light and noise control in the ward was 12.3% and 16.3% respectively.The dissatisfaction for the co-discussion of rehabilitation programme was 19.7%.The dissatisfaction for the concern to pain, depression and anxiety was 16.3%, 12.6% and 13.9% respectively.The dissatisfaction for the flexibility of visiting hours and the protection of the privacy was 17.4% and 16.9% respectively. Conclusion The self-designed critically-ill-conscious patients' satisfaction questionnaire scale is relatively reliable and valid, which can provide references for the needs of physiology and psychology of the patients, encourage the patients to take part in the treatment and nursing care, and enhance the doctor-nurse-patient cooperation.
