The multi-data-center storage environment managing method includes the steps that a storage object library for storing classes, attributes and methods of objects is set on a management server, and storage equipment in the storage environment is divided according to the storage object library; storage object operation requests are received and analyzed, storage objects are searched for according to analyzing results, and corresponding storage object information of the management requesting operation is obtained; the management requesting operation is conducted on the storage objects according to the obtained storage object information, and storage object operation processing results are sent back to a management client side. According to the multi-data-center storage environment managing method and system, the storage object dividing is conducted on the storage equipment in the storage environment, the unified management can be achieved on the storage objects and the relations between the storage objects, and therefore unified management on the whole storage environment is achieved.
