The present invention relates generally to working with high-strength fiber ropes rope drives such as Hoisting Units, Auslegerverstellwerke, Katz trolleys and the like. The invention concerns in particular a cable drum of such a fiber cord drive, with a drum body for winding the fiber cable, the drum body enclosing flanged wheels and a Seilendbefestigungsvorrichtung for securing a cable end to the rope drum. According to the invention Seilendbefestigungsvorrichtung the cable drum comprises two adjacent strand guide channels which lead into a cable jacket element to the environmental end of the rope and is zuruckschlagbar, such that one cable strand comes to lie in the two strand guide channels, and further comprising a strand guide channels associated clamping device for clamping at least the cable strand, which is folded back around the cable jacket element in which this cable strand associated strand guide channel.
