Pressure losses in an N-Reactor fuel column
1970
A laboratory experiment was conducted to obtain pressure drop-flow relationships and to determine two phase pressure drop multipliers for the significant channels of a N-Reactor fuel column and downstream piping. This experiment utilized a test section which consisted of a full-scale electrically heated model of the downstream half of an N-Reactor fuel column and prototypic downstream piping. A variety of flow conditions with various steam-water mixtures at nominal system pressures of 1215, 1365, and 1515 psia were investigated. Pressure loss data obtained at 1215 psia were required to check data from a similar test section (328-01). Data taken at 1365 and 1515 psia were needed to extend the range of the 328-01 pressure loss data.
