Modeling and simulation of charging characteristics of spacecraft dielectric materials

In order to study the charging characteristics of aerospace dielectric materials and analyze the influence of the material thickness on the equilibrium potential and the charging time, the differential equation of the surface potential is obtained. The charging expression of the ground simulation space charged process can be attained by solving the differential equation, the simulation curves comparing with the measured data. The charging model of the dielectric material is established, and the correctness of the model is verified. Meanwhile, the relationship between the surface potential of the spacecraft and the thickness of the material is obtained by model programming. At last, verification of the model indicates that the charging discipline of the dielectric material is obtained, which solve the problem of time consuming charging experiment, saving the experimental cost, the simulation results having certain guiding significance for the selection of spacecraft dielectric materials and electrostatic protection of space equipment.
