To remove the hydrocarbon vapors generated from a fuel tank for vehicle drive train group including at least one thermal engine, by means of an absorber bottle vapors, the method comprises the steps of: - detecting (103 , 113) of hydrocarbon vapor passages of the reservoir bottle; - increase (104, 114) a value (Compt.) Counter when the vapors pass from the tank to the bottle; - calculating (108) a number (NBV) of gas volume passing through the vial when the engine is started so as to decrease the counter value by purging fuel vapors to the engine.
