Selective desorption of transparent adhesive thin films using asymmetric distribution of vaporizable shell cross-linked nanocapsules

2019
Abstract A selective desorption strategy for transparent adhesive thin films, using an asymmetric distribution of vaporizable shell cross-linked nanocapsules, is presented. The shell-crosslinked nanocapsules consist of an outer shell of polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) copolymer, and the inner core of a thermally vaporable methylcyclohexane. The vaporizable nanocapsule with a high PAN ratio exhibited excellent desorption efficiency after heat treatment owing to the gas barrier property of PAN. Transparent adhesive films with an asymmetric nanocapsule distribution in the vertical direction successfully realized selective and clean desorption at a specific interface, while maintaining high optical transmittance.
