Depression and Separation of Fersmite and Dominant Gangue by Floatation

2003
The floatation process of the fersmite and its intergrowth gangue is investigated with 4 depressants. The depression effect of starch on fersmite is much stronger than that on limonite, it can be used in reverse flotation of the fersmite concentrate for removal the limonite. The hexmetaphosphate, oxalic acid and methycellulose are the selective depressants for dolomite, and the sequence of the selectivity is hexmeta phosphatemethycelluloseoxalic acid. The recovery of the dolomite is less than 3 0% while the dosage of the hexmetaphosphate is 1 0mg/L. There is no depression effect of methycellulose on fersmite, and the selectivity of the oxalic acid is weaker. And the flowsheet with 2 stage direct floatation and 1 stage reverse floatation for the fersmite recovery is recommended.
