PENINGKATAN KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS MENGGUNAKAN TEORI BELAJAR GAGNE DAN MEDIA KARTU PECAHAN DALAM MATERI PECAHAN SENILAIDI KELAS IV SDN 3 SUMBERDADI TRENGGALEK

Mathematical communication capability in fourth grade of Elementary School 3 Sumberdadi was quite low. Departing from this issue, it was needed a learning which contained stimulus and response, so this research was conducted. This research aims to 1) describe the use of Gagne Learning Theory and fraction card media that can improve the mathematical communication ability in “Equality of Rational Number” material of fourth grade students at Elementary School 3 Sumberdadi, Trenggalek; 2) explain the development of mathematical communication capability of fourth grade students in “Equality of Rational Number” material by means of Gagne Learning Theory and fraction card media at Elementary School 3 Sumberdadi, Trenggalek.
The research employed classroom action research. The subject of the research was fourth grade students of Elementary School 3 Sumberdadi, in the amount of 20 students. Data collection techniques utilized in the form of tests, observations, interview, documentation and field notes. The instruments applied test questions, student observation sheets, teachers, implementation of Gagne learning theory, mathematical communication skills, documentation guidelines, interview guidelines and field notes. The obtained data were analyzed in qualitative descriptive. This research adopted two cycles with the stages of initial observation, action plan, implementation of action, observation of action, reflection.
The results showed that the use of Gagne learning theory and fraction card media could increase students' mathematical communication skills. The enhancement to the tone of 60% of students' completeness in a classical manner. In the first cycle of learning, 8 students (40%) were completed the minimum review criteria value ≥ 70 with a classical average value of 65.15. While in the second cycle as many as 20 students (100%) were fulfilled the minimum review criteria grade ≥ 70 in consort with classical average value of 85.7. The conclusions that can be drawn from these data are the utilizations of Gagne learning theory and fraction card media can escalate the mathematical communication competence of fourth grade students of Elementary School 3 Sumberdadi, Trengggalek. Gagne learning theory can be adjusted in learning, but must consider the needs of students. This research is able to be used as a reference for developing other researchs.
