The question of “surge” in Manu Larcenet’s Blast

Based on a work by Manu Larcenet, Blast, this text offers a meeting between the language of comics and psychoanalysis, with a particular interest in the motif of the “surge”, specific to the work of Larcenet and his signifying system. This motif will lead us to explore both the Rorschach clinic and the clinic of the uncanny as it infiltrates the relationship to the work of art. This article weaves together three worlds, those of psychoanalysis, art, and the semiotics of comics.
