Mifepristone Combined with Ethacridine in Midtrimester Termination

Objective To study the efficacy of mifepristone combined with ethacridine in midtrimester termination.Methods Amniotic injection of 100mg ethacridine is performed and,at the same time,50mg mifepristone is taken for every 12 hours orally till the delivery is achieved.Results It costs much less time in inducing abortion than control group.The rate of uterine evacuation is much lower than control group.Conclusion Mifepristone and ethacridine together are synergetic,they can improve the maturity of cervix, shorten the time needed in pregnancy termination,reduce the retention of placenta tissue and deciduas,and lastly lower the uterine evacuation rate.
