Emotional Intelligence and Coping Response Among Patients With Alcohol Dependence

Alcohol dependence adversely affects individual’s personal, family, social, and occupational life. Individual’s cognitive functions deteriorate and it has detrimental effect on overall functioning. Poor regulation of emotion leads to poor coping strategies and poor coping strategies leads to maladaptive behaviour such as aggression, destructive behaviour, intake of alcohol etc. Hence, the present study was conducted to assess the coping responses and emotional intelligence of patients with alcohol dependence.
