Expression of aldehyde deshydrogenase 1 ( ALDH1) in inflammatory breast cancer: A cohort study.

e13064Background: Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is the most aggressive breast carcinoma, with the clinical and biological characteristics of a rapidly proliferating disease. A number of molecular changes have been described in IBC including ALDH1 gene. This study aimed to evaluate ALDH1 expression, using immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR, in IBC tumors. The results were correlated with molecular characteristics and stage. Methods: A total of 83 cases with IBC from the National Oncology Institute in Rabat; were recruited during the period of July, 2014 to July, 2017. Standardized structured questionnaires were developed and used for the interview. Paraffin-embedded tumor tissues were obtained from all cases.
