Steric control of tricoordination in univalent coinage metal complexes: the crystal structure of tris(cyclopentyldiphenylphosphine)silver(I) tetrafluoroborate

Eighteen complexes of general formula [M(PR 2 R') 3 ] X (M=Cu, Ag, Au; X=BF 4 , ClO 4 ; R=Ph, Cy, C 5 H 9 ) have been isolated and characterized. In the majority of cases, the infrared spectra of the anions indicate that they are very weakly coordinated. Crystals of [Ag{PPh 2 (C 5 H 9 )} 3 ] [BF 4 ] belong to the trigonal space group P31c
