Gliomatosis cerebri presenting with hydrocephalus and dementia.
1988
Gliomatosis cerebri is an uncommon central nervous system neoplasm with protean clinical manifestations and frequently nondiagnostic radiographic and laboratory studies. We report a patient with gliomatosis cerebri whose clinical presentation mimicked normal pressure hydrocephalus. Retrospective post-mortem study of the CT scans showed enlargement of the corpus callosum and septum pellucidum, a not infrequent finding in previously reported cases that may be a useful diagnostic sign in future cases.
