2011
The effects of malic acid on the growth and development, physiological properties, dry matter accumulation of flue-cured tobacco were studied in field trials. One liter of 4.5 g/L malic acid solution was applied by the root-pouring method to each tobacco plant on the 20th day after transplanting. The results showed that malic acid application was helpful to the growth, development and dry matter accumulation of flue-cured tobacco,it increased the chlorophyll content in leaves, enhanced the weight of the lower leaves, lowered the weight of the central and upper leaves, reduced the leaf difference among different positions, increased the yield and output value, and enhanced the average price and the proportion of the high-quality tobacco.
