COMPARATIVE STUDY CONCERNING RODENT SPECIES CAPTURED IN CEAHLĂU AND RARĂU MOUNTAINS
2005
Materials and methods The collected material is composed of 58 rodents, 29 of them being captured in the Ceahlău massif and 29 in Rarău. For each massif 3 sample points have been chosen, representing equivalent types of habitat: subalpine meadow, clearing, and spruce forest. Metallic spring traps have been used, with ten meters spacing between them. For data comparison, the capture index per 100 traps per night has been utilized. Measurements have been taken, and the data have been statistically analyzed. For the species Apodemus flavicollis, due to the fact that enough individuals have been caught, a comparison of the statistical indices has been made between the two massifs.
