Celestin Tube lntubation for Advanced Esophageal Carcinoma

1978
We believe that in selected patients with carcinoma of the esophagus, intubation with a Celestin tube offers a reasonable alternative to other palliative measures. Accordingly, between July 1973 and May 1975, we inserted nine Celestin tubes for advanced carcinoma of the esophagus. Our overall good results and low incidence of complications directly related to the tube have encouraged us to continue its use. This experience, together with fine points in technic, forms the basis for the present report.
