Intradurales Neurinom in graviditate : Eine seltene Differenzialdiagnose bei Lumbalgie in der Schwangerschaft -Eine Kasuistik

2006
Back pain is a common accompaniment in pregnancy. In general this has no therapeutical consequences apart from analgetics and physiotherapy. Some, although rare, causes have to be taken into consideration after failure of conservative treatment, particularly neurological symptoms such as sensory or motor deficits, because they might have immense therapeutical consequences, e.g. surgical intervention. In this case we report on a patient presenting with drug-resistant back pain in pregnancy lasting and worsening after primary caesarian section. The diagnosis was made of a spinal neurinoma in the lumbar region. In our case the diagnosis was complicated by a history of a lumbar disc protrusion. Based on the following case report of a primary spinal tumour we present the differential diagnosis of persistent back pain in pregnancy.
