Comparison of testing methods for determination of banned organophosphorus flame retardants in textiles

Banned organophosphorus flame retardants in textiles are extracted by ultrasonic extraction technique,microwave-assisted extraction technique and Soxhet extraction technique,respectively.The extraction results show that ultrasonic extraction is the most suitable technique.The extracts are determined by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry,gas chromatography and gas chromatography/mass-selected ion monitor technique,respectively.The linear relationship,precision and limits of quantification are compared.With these three methods,commercially available flame-retardant textiles are measured.The results show that there is no significant difference between the test results of three methods.
