New wetting and compatibility techniques for TiO2 : Application of new techniques provides a means to select pigments for improved formulations

The results and examples shown in this article illustrate how the Tioxide wetting and compatibility techniques can be applied to both water-borne and solvent-borne paint media. The reported results show how the techniques have been used to assess the effect of pigmentary properties on pigment wetting/compatibility. Examples are also shown on how the techniques can be used for selecting the best TiO 2 pigments, anti-settling agents and dispersants.
