Clinical application of improved nasal feeding in the stroke patients

2010
Objective To explore the appropriate length and method of gastric tube placement and fixation for nasal feeding and to provide a basis for clinical operation. Methods A total of 139 cases with stroke were randomly divided into control group and observation group, taking a different approach indwelling stomach tube(traditional vs improved method). The effect was evaluated. Results The incidence of stomach contents reflux, lung infection and sliping out of stomatic of tube were significantly lower in experimental group than the control group. Conclusions Improved nasal feeding is superior to conventional indwelling stomach tube method, reduce the stimulation of the patient and the incidence of complications.
