Characteristics of Interstitial Lung Disease

This chapter defines interstitial pneumonia and the various patterns of lung response to injury in the setting of interstitial lung disease. The different types of interstitial lung disease are defined by their radiographic appearance, including both specific and nonspecific findings. Classic features and signs are included. The differential diagnosis for the different interstitial lung diseases are discussed, as are some possible mimics and their causes/risk factors. Imaging features are highlighted.
