Mechanism of nonlinearity in the response characteristics of thermoluminescence dosimeters

The nonlinearity of TL response, as discussed by Lakshmanan (1981) is considered. The phenomenon of 'sublinearity' is attributed by Lakshmanan to damage by gamma radiation. This letter argues against that interpretation of the experimental results.
