Mineralogy and Microstructure of Lightweight Aggregates Produced from Washing Aggregate Sludge and Fly Ash
2010
(UNE-EN-13055-1, 2003). previous Swamy and Lambert (1981) reported the importance of the microstructure for the main physical properties of artificial LWAs. Farran (1956) showed that the mineralogical composition of the aggregates is the main factor to consider in the study of concrete fracture, because the mineralogy of them fundamentally determines the adhesive behaviour between the cement paste and the aggregate.
