A Conception of Chemistry Specialty Adjustment and Transformation under the Idea of Characteristic Resources Development in the Northwest Part of Guangxi Province

2006
Hechi University is located in the northwest part of Guangxi province. It is a newly-built undergraduate university which promoted from a teachers education college in 2003.Great changes of talented person culture goals have taken place since the school was promoted,so,the specialty adjustment and transformation must be made.As we know, the region of the northwest part of Guangxi is well known by its rich characteristic resources, such as non-ferrous metal, rare and precious species of animals and plants, karst forest, primary Chinese herbal medicine, natural organic food, but until now,the resource predominance can not be turned into the economic predominance yet.To investigate the reason,it is probably that lacking of chemistry specialty application talented person is the main cause. From another point of view, chemistry is one of the specialties which closely contacted with production practice, thus,it has great development potential. In order to meet the urgent demand for undergraduate chemistry specialty application talented person,so as to speed up the economic development and develop use the characteristic resources of the northwest part of Guangxi province better, some approaches, for example,by adding practicability foundation curriculum and specialized skill curriculum, opening the elective courses on the characteristic resources development and use, putting module type teaching into practice, strengthening the teachers professional skill training, using the fundamental research, the technical development and the market development teachers develops simultaneously, paying more attention to the practice base construction, etc.were put forward by the authors. On the basis above,a conception about the original chemistry specialty adjustment and transformation were proposed by the authors.
