An Insight of Challenges in Agriculture – A Study of Ballari District in Karnataka State

Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy. The contribution of agricultural sector to the overall growth of the economy is noteworthy. The development of technology has brought major changes in the agricultural sector. As such, agriculture sector in India is now comprised with the usage of machineries at large scale, usage of quality seeds, application of manure and vermin-compost, etc. which is expected to increase productivity as well as production of produces.             With this context, the call of the hour is to frame strategies aiming to boost investment in agriculture, application of modern technology in farming activities, promoting more usage of vermin-compost manure, wider usage of quality seeds, effective marketing system and timely marketing information and so on which will not only raise production but also farm household income also.
