The method of preparing the catalytic species of fatty alcohols, i.e., the catalytic hydrogenation of fatty acid methyl esters of fatty alcohols types supported metal hydrogenation catalyst, wherein the supported metal hydrogenation catalyst carrier for MCM-41, MAS-7, ZSM- 5, SBA-15, β zeolite, ZrO, CeO, AlO, SiO the species, supported metal hydrogenation catalyst is Pd, Cu, Ni, Ru species in, the mass ratio of supported metal hydrogenation catalyst and is a carrier : 500 to 1: 10, and a fatty acid methyl ester hydrogenation catalyst metal mass ratio of 1: 200 to 1: 10, the reaction temperature is 100 ~ 250 ℃, under a hydrogen pressure of 0.5 ~ 12MPa 0.5 ~ 10h the reaction of fatty alcohols prepared, and recovering repeat using a catalyst. Compared with the prior art: a high activity supported metal catalyst, mild reaction conditions. 2. Simple, high product selectivity, in line with the production process green. 3. The catalyst recovered easily, can be reused, no effect on the yield.
