The invention discloses a method and device for estimating hydraulic braking force of a wheel cylinder, which belongs to the technical field of automobiles. The method comprises the following steps of determining a brake fluid volume change amount of the wheel cylinder between a current time and a previous time, wherein the time interval between the current time and the previous time is a preset time; obtaining a brake fluid volume of the wheel cylinder at the current time according to the brake fluid volume change amount of the wheel cylinder between the current time and the previous time, wherein the brake fluid volume of the wheel cylinder at the current time is equal to the sum of brake fluid volume of the wheel cylinder at the previous time and the brake fluid volume change amount of the wheel cylinder between the current time and the previous time; and obtaining the hydraulic braking force corresponding to the brake fluid volume of the wheel cylinder at the current time in a corresponding relation between a preset brake fluid volume and the hydraulic braking force. According to the method and device for estimating the hydraulic braking force of the wheel cylinder, disclosed by the invention, as the hydraulic braking force of the wheel cylinder is obtained through the estimating method, a pressure sensor can be not used so that the production cost of an automobile is saved and the accuracy of the obtained hydraulic braking force of the wheel cylinder is improved.
