CRYSTAL AND MOLECULAR STRUCTURE OF CYCLOHEXA- (p-PHENYLENE SULFIDE)

1990
As part of a study of the structure of the oligomeric precursors of organic and heteroorganic polymers, an x-ray structural study of cyclohexa(p-phenylene sulfide) (I) was carried out. Data have been published on the structure of its simplest acyclic analog 1,4-bis(phenylthio)benzene (II) [i], and also the nearest homolog cyclopenta(p-phenylene sulfide) (III) [2], which show no differences in the geometry of the phenyl sulfide fragments in the cyclic and acyclic structures.
