Study on quality specification of Illiciun verum Hook.f.

Objective: To provide scientific basis for the utilization and development of Illiciun verum by setting up the quality control specification.Method: The extract of I.verum was examined,ash was determined,and the bioactive constituents were analyzed by TLC and a HPLC analysis was applied for quatitative determination of shikimic acid.Result: Content of extract,total ash,and acid-insoluble ash of 10 samples from different habitats were determined.The qualitative and quantitative analysis of shikimic acid and kaempfetol by TLC and HPLC were also preformed respectively.Conclusion: The established method can be used for the quality control of Illiciun verum.
