A clinical observation of excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy for the myopia with nystagmus

2005
Objective To explore the methods and the effectiveness of excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy for the myopia with nystagmus. Methods The laser photorefractive keratectomy for the myopia (corrected vision0.5) with congenital nystagmus were performed on 32 eyes (16 patients),PRK on 26 eyes (13 patients),LASIK on 6 eyes (3 patients). The followed-up period was 6 months. Results 29 eyes'(24 eyes with PRK,5 eyes with LSAIK) postoperative vision reach the best preoperative corrected vision. The preoperative mean diopter of 26 eyes with PRK was -4.86±0.55D,the postoperation mean diopter was +0.52±0.46D;preoperative mean diopter of 6 eyes with LASIK was -6.72±0.761D,the postoperation mean diopter was -0.75±0.87D.Conclusion Excimer laser photorefractive keratectomy on the myopia with congenital nystagmus can reach better effectiveness as on the normal myopia
