Modeling two-phase flow in a swirl combustor. Technical progress report, February 1--April 1, 1977

During the past two months, work has been concentrated on two tasks: (1) exercising the model both to verify its internal consistency and to provide some estimates of design geometry scaling; and (2) analyzing the cylindrical wall layer in more detail. These tasks are reported on separately. A major part of the research effort over the next two months will be devoted to further comparisons with experimental data as such data become available from PERC and other experimental studies in the literature. A study will be made of the overall energy balance in the system in order to estimate heat losses.
