Excitation of sound by laser pulses in a liquid in the process of optical breakdown

2001
Sound excitation by laser pulses in a liquid with inhomogeneities in the form of clusters–mass fractals constituted by microscopic particles (admixtures)–is considered. The distribution of particle sizes is assumed to be described by a power law. The dependence of the acoustic signal amplitude in a liquid on fractal and thermophysical parameters of the inhomogeneities and on the energy of laser radiation is analyzed.
