Report on screening summer soybean varieties suitable for intercropping with spring maize in Guangxi

[Objective]The present experiment was conducted to screen summer soybean varieties suitable for intercropping with spring maize in different production regions of Guangxi,to enhance the output of soybean.[Method]Screening experiment of spring maize intercropping with summer soybean was conducted in the field using 4 Guangxi registered soybean varieties and 2 national registered soybean varieties in 4 representative spring maize production regions of Guangxi in 2010.[Result]Except Huaxia 1,which yield decreased 26.64% compared to CK in Long'an County,the yield of other soybean varieties increased significantly in each experimental county compared to CK,and the range of increase was from 23.72-99.89%.[Conclusion]According to the quality requirement in different production regions,Guixia 1,Guixia 2,Guixia 3,Guixia 4 and Huaxia 3 could be extended mainly in Mashan County;Guixia 1,Guixia 3,Guixia 4 and Huaxia 3 could be extended mainly in Long'an County;Guixia 1,Guixia 3,Guixia 4 could be extended mainly in Du'an County,especially for Guixia 3.Guixia 1,Guixia 2,Guixia 3,Guixia 4 and Huaxia 3 could be extended mainly in Jinchengjiang District,Hechi City.
