The invention discloses a method for preparing beta''-aluminum oxide molding powder. The method includes a molding slurry preparing step, to be more specific, mixing sodium precursor powder and lithium precursor powder with each other to obtain mixtures, carrying out mechanical ball-milling on the mixtures by the aid of alcohol which is used as a ball-milling medium and uniformly mixing the sodium precursor powder and the lithium precursor powder with each other to obtain molding slurry; a spray-drying step, to be more specific, volatilizing the alcohol in the molding slurry by means of spray-drying to obtain uniformly mixed particles of the beta''-aluminum oxide molding powder. A mass ratio of the sodium precursor powder to the lithium precursor powder is (5-10):1, and a ratio of the total mass of the sodium precursor powder and the lithium precursor powder to the mass of the alcohol is 1:(0.5-1.5). The temperatures of hot-air inlets are 100-250 DEG C during spray-drying, the temperatures of hot-air outlets are 80-150 DEG C during spray-drying, and the rotational speeds of atomizing discs are 8000-12500 r/min. The method has the technical advantages that the beta''-aluminum oxide molding powder obtained by the aid of the method is good in fluidity, the particle sizes of the particles of the beta''-aluminum oxide powder are in Gaussian distribution in the ranges of 10-100 micrometers, and the method is applicable to isostatic pressure molding.
