Study on Optimization Method of Cascade Pumping Station Pumping Irrigation System Planning in Hilly Areas

Aiming at the currently shortcomings of pumping irrigation system planning in cascade pumping stations in hilly areas, the authors establish a mathematical planning model with the objective of minimum annual cost of the pumping irrigation project, and introduce the solution method of DDDP (Discrete Differential Dynamic Programming) to solve the model. Thus, they have solved the long term puzzling problems in the cascade pumping station planning in hilly areas, i.e. the number of steps of the multi-step cascade pumping and the lift allocations among steps.
