Performance of Facultative MBR Process for Phosphorus Removal by Gasification

2010
A facultative MBR process was developed and used to treat domestic sewage. The average removal rates of COD and TP in the facultative MBR are 94.6% and 71.1% respectively at MLSS of 15 350 mg/L and DO of 0.1 to 3.0 mg/L.While in the aerobic MBR,the removal rates of COD and TP are only 87.5% and 40.6% respectively. The phosphorus content in the sludge of the facultative MBR is stable, and phosphine of 1.52 to 4.55 μg/L can be released, while a trace amount of phosphine is released from the aerobic MBR.The facultative MBR is able to remove COD and TP simultaneously, and it is of important significance for the reconstruction of phosphorus removal process in municipal wastewater treatment.
