Experimental investigation of single coal particle devolatilization by laser heating

Abstract A facility for high intensity laser heating of coal particles is described. The following characteristics of coal flash pyrolysis are given: time of volatile yield; specific molar yield; and total yield of volatiles. The theoretical pattern of volatile yield through the coal particle pores is discussed.
