Analyzing server response time using Testing Power Web Stress tool

2010
Nowadays, virtual world turned to be more important and total number of Internet users in the world had increase over the years. Online banking, ticketing, trading and businesses are all over the Internet. Due to that, web services have become important than ever. Web servers that provide services must maintain the reliability and maintain tolerable in terms of response time from server to clients in order to avoid client frustration. To make it possible, developers have to perform load test to the server before make it available on the net. However, human being is not capable of performing load test manually to get accurate result. Thus, a tool that simulates loads is needed to ensure positive reaction from web server during heavy loads. The project developed a web stress tool called Testing Power Web Stress which provides extreme tests to servers by concerning response time captured during request and response transaction using SDLC. To validate whether the feature is accurate, a free web load test called Pylot is used as a benchmark. The project gathered and compared results generated from both tools.
