The paper highlights the most significant activities of Nafta-Gas in petroleum explorations inland and abroad from the very beginning in 1949 and the results achieved in the past, fourty-year period. The high exploration rate of the Tertiary deposits in Vojvodina is indicated and the future line of operations, with particular reference to the Mesozoic Complex, Tertiary non-structural and various subtle traps, outlined. The need to improve the existing and introduced novel developments is emphasized
