Sepiolite based flame retarding polymer and method of producing the same

The invention relates to flame retarding polymer, in particular to natural inorganic mineral sepiolite-based flame retarding polymer and a preparation method thereof. The proportion of all components of the flame retarding polymer is as follows: 50 percent to 70 percent of resin matrix, 15 percent to 25 percent of sepiolite, 6 percent to 12 percent of ammonium polyphosphate, 3 percent to 8 percent of pentaerythritol and 3 percent to 8 percent of ultrapas. The preparation method comprises the following steps: thermosetting resin is mixed with all the components; curing agent, anti-shrinkage agent, thickening agent and internal release agent are added in to be cured and shaped at appropriate temperature and pressure; or thermoplastic resin is mixed with all the components, extruded and shaped through hot pressing or injection. The invention has good inflammability effect, exhausts little smoke in burning, meets the environment protection requirements, has low production cost, does not generate by-products and simple production process.
