magnetrons many attempts had forlongbeenmadetoachieve theregime ofinteraction between anelectron flowandaspatial harmonic ofone ofthedoublet-type oscillation modes. Butallthese efforts havefailed. Thereasonwhyitsohappened was that 1)operating modecame closer toa critical one;2)theexisting analytical relations usedtocalculate the magnetron's operating conditions didnotmatchreal processesand3)theintermode competition was ignored. As a result one hadtocarryouta hugeamountofexperimental workmainly centered on developing magnetrons with an assurancethat inthemanufacturing processtheattained level ofparameters wouldberepeated. After a gooddeal a scientific andapplied research hadbeendone, a numberofproblems still needed a more comprehensive solution. Specifically, oneofthemwas associated withtheprocedure ofcomputing theexistence upperassistance domain ofmagnetron oscillation modeswithregard tothemagnetic field asa function ofthe spectral composition ofspacecompeting-mode harmonics. Thetechniques forestablishing thecausesthat restricted theextent ofoscillation ina modesforthe magnetic field non - z -modemagnetron anddetermining thecriterion fortheupperboundary oftheir existence fromthemagnetic field canbeemployed asan integrated approachtoselecting anoscillatory system parameter andcalculating themagnetron's operating conditions fromthemagnetic field magnitude. Theaimofcomputations istodetermine theinteraction spaceparameters thatprovide therequired extent oftheactive oscillation moderegion ofanappropriate efficiency. Theinitial preconditions enabling one tocalculate theparameters oftheslow-wave structure ofthemagnetron anodeblock anditsoperating conditions areas follows: maximumpermnissible anodevoltage Ua,minimal efficiency, wavelength (2A?) ofoscillations being generated.
