Determination of Friction Coefficients of Beans and Peanuts

1989
ABSTRACT Adevice using a personal computer for data acquisition was built to determine static and dynamic coefficients of friction of soybeans, red kidney beans and unshelled peanuts. Values were determined for three moisture levels and three types of surfaces. The effects of moisture and surface on the friction values were significant. The data obtained by this digital system were more accurate than those taken by an earlier analog system.
